Slap...
"I said come with me..." Ramesh drags
Priya out of her room and Kalpana watches it from upstairs feeling guilty to
see a daughter being beaten up by her dad. She lowers her eyes and says to
herself "May be it's better she leaves from here. I can't let anyone come
in between me and Raghav.Whatever happens, she has to go."
"No...No please...I don't want to come with
you." Priya keeps holding the door with one hand as her other hand is
dragged by Ramesh. He slaps her head again saying "If you don't come with
me, I'll keep beating you up but I'll take you from here. I'm your father and
you have to stay with me. I don't want others to know about your pregnancy.
Just come." Ramesh says while his eyes turn red and Kalpana unable to
resist comes downstairs and says "Uncle...Please stop beating her...I know
I've no right to interfere but...But Priya is pregnant. I can harm her and the
child. Priya, please leave with your dad. It's better for all of us."
Priya cries loudly and releases her hand from her dad's grip and begs before
Kalpana saying "Please mam...Please let me stay here. I promise I'll never
come out of my room again but I can't go with this man. He keeps beating me
everyday. Please...My child will die if I stay with him."
Ramesh goes near Priya and is about to raise his
hand before which is stopped by Raghav. Ramesh looks at him in astonishment and
Kalpana comes close to them getting scared of the end result. Ramesh moves back
and watches Raghav fuming in anger. "Sir...Sir...Pri..." "Just
shut up." Raghav warns him while point his finger at him. "This is my
house and here I won't let anyone to raise a hand on a girl."
"Sir...Priya is my daughter. I want to take
her away from here." Ramesh says while lowring his eyes. "I'm sorry
that I hit her but she has shamed my name. I couldn't bear this fact
and..." Raghav signals him to stop and says "I know that what she has
done is wrong but now she's my responsibility. She will remain here till she
wishes to and when she is OK to go with you, I'll send her back. Now please
leave." Kalpana watches him and gets nervous thinking if Raghav comes to know
that she has called Ramesh, he'll get very angry with her and their
relationship that had begin to get better will become even worse.
Ramesh decides to leave Priya and gives her a
last look before moving out. Raghav holds Priya's hand and caresses her face
saying "You're face is bruised. I'll call the doctor now." Tears fall
from Kalpana's eyes watching them so close and Raghav moves to call the doctor
ignoring Kalpana who was stanidng just 2 steps away from him.
The doctor arrives and checks Priya's health. He
puts medicine on her wounds and informs Raghav that the baby is safe. Kalpana
leaves and enters her room. She holds the sheet and keeps crying thinking about
her relationship that's getting weaker and weaker day by day. Priya's presence
had made the situation even more tough for her to mend all ways with Raghav and
Raghav started giving all his attention to Priya instead of Kalpana.
"What's wrong with my fate? When I was
pregnant, I couldn't handle the situation and felt Raghav being too interfering
and we were moving apart. After my miscarriage, when I realized my mistake,
this distance kept increasing and now I feel I'm just a show piece in this
house. I want us to be alone but now Priya is trying to break our relationship
that is on its verge of breaking." She holds her head and keeps weeping
till Raghav enters the room and Kalpana watches him walk towards her. She wipes
her tears and stands before him trying to hold his hand. He moves behind and
says "Why did you call Priya's dad here?"
Kalpana chokes within thinking Priya must have
told him everything. She keeps silent and lowers her eyes. Raghav grabs her
hand and says "Look at me Kalpi. Why did you call him? Dint I tell you
about his bad behavior with Priya earlier? By calling him here, Priya is in
trauma now. She is literally shivering. Why are you behaving so badly with
her?" Kalpana leaves his hand and pushes him back screaming "So what
should I do then? That Priya is trying to come between us. She is trying to gain
your sympathy and come close to you. I know this girl has always had feelings
for you. She must have known that there our problems in our life and hence she
has come here to break our marriage."
Raghav smirks and says"You still haven't
changed know? Still you're the same old Kalpana who is all of herself. You know
what Kalpi...I've never told you this before. You...You had many flaws before
but I loved you so much that I kept telling myself that my love will change you
one day...But...But ...But...I was wrong. I was so wrong. You can never change.
You will always remain the same...A selfish, ill mannered and obsessed woman.
That's what you are Kalpana." Kalpana's eyes tear up as she hears Raghav's
judgement about her. He continues saying "Obsessed with
yourself...Obsessed about me...Obsessed about everything. You feel that
everything should happen as per your wish." He keeps pointing his finger
at Kalpana and accuses her further "And...And if by mistake anything
doesn't happen as per your wish, you try to do everything possible to get that
thing out of your life. First it was our baby...Yes, our baby lost its life
because of your obsessive nature. I tried to please you in every possible way
but my love was very less compared to your self centered and selfish needs. You
felt that your social life and your beautiful body would be affected if you had
a baby. That's the reason you killed our baby. And now it's Priya...That girl
is pregnant. You couldn't see her happiness before and I used to remain quiet
only because of our love. But now no more...You have just crossed all your
limits today Kalpana. You called her dad here so that he beats her up and drags
her with him. She would have not only lost her child but she could have lost
her life as well...Her dad has become a monster ever since he got to know about
her pregnancy. Do you know about honor killing? That's what he wants to do with
her. But you and your disgusting obsession. You're ridiculous Kalpana."
Kalpana holds herself up and wipes her tears. She
snaps back and says loudly "If I'm ridiculous Raghav, then what are you?
You said it right. I am selfish, self centered, obsessive and all those crappy
things in this world. But one thing you forgot to mention in that..." She
takes a deep breath saying "Is that...I love you damn it. I love
you." She screams and holds Raghav's hand hard. "That's the reason I
want our relationship to get better. I know...I know that I've done many wrong
things in my life. Because of my mistake we lost our baby...I accept it. My
carelessness costed us a life...I regret it as well Raghav. But how can you
forget one thing? That baby...That baby was ours...Our blood...Our skin...Our
love...It was in my womb. I was its mother Raghav. How can you just blame me
for everything that happened?" She turns and Raghav's eyes turn moist and
red as she continues saying "Or should I say that...That your love for me
is over? Its over because we lost our baby? Or...." She chokes while
saying "Or...Because...Because Priya is giving you your happiness."
Raghav's eyes widen on hearing the statement of
Kalpana and he spits out "What? What do you mean?" "I mean what
I just said Raghav." She turns behind to face him and says "Tell me
Raghav. Why are you taking so much care of Priya? Aren't there other helpless
girls in that NGO? Why dint you bring them here as well? Why only Priya? She is
pregnant with whose child? Who is the father of that baby? Bring him here and
show me who is the father Raghav? I want to know it?"
"That boy has just disappeared Kalpi. I told
you that he ditched her. Why will he come here and face us? And why should
Priya care about a man who just ditched her? She should give him a kick for
it."
"Excuses haan...Nice one. You don't want him
to come here as there's no man who can claim to be the father of that child.
This is because you are the father of Priya's child. You slept with her...You
are a bloody jerk Raghav and she is a wh***." Raghav turns and slaps her
hard.
Few moments of silence pass by as Raghav watches
his hand and then looks at Kalpana who holds her cheek. He takes few steps
towards her and she shows him her palm. "Stop...Sto there. You did and
said what you wanted. Now leave. Just go from here." She spits out and
Raghav bearing guilt for his action leaves the room.
In the night, Raghav crushes a glass in his hand
and punishes himself daily for raising his hand on his love.
4 days pass by...
Kalpana sleeps in another room trying to overcome
the incident that happened between them 4 days ago. She starts taking anti
depressents to calm herself but they make her condition even worse. She starts
having nightmares and get even more restless thinking about Raghav and Priya.
Priya remains in her room for days and Raghav
takes care of her medicines and appoints a nurse to be besides her as her
health keeps deteriorating.
Kalpana keeps cursing Priya for the differences
she created between her and her husband. She keeps watching how Raghav enters
Priya's room every night and comes out after an hour. This keeps disturbing
Kalpana and making her doubt appear true. That night she thinks of getting rid
of Priya forever.
3:00 a.m.
A scream is heard in the house...
Raghav rushes downstairs hearing the voice from
Priya's room. He opens the door and switches on the light. As he moves forward,
he notices Kalpana in the room with her back facing him. He moves towards her
and places his hand on her shoulder. He looks at her in astonishment when he
notices her face covered with blood drops and her hand holding a knife bearing
blood on it.
