I took two steps behind and kept staring at him. I started stammering and asked "What....What do you mean by this?"

"Why did you bring the photograph here? This is Raghav's parents photographs and for the past 20 years, I have never brought any pictures inside this house. That room has been locked so that the evil remains outside this house but you...You opened that room and brought back the curse...Now I don't know what will happen..."

"Curse?...What curse?"

"Raghav's dad's curse..." Rajesh said and I couldn't believe his words. Raghav's dad's curse? How was that possible?

I kept asking myself these questions and asked Rajesh "How is this possible? This is just a photograph and ..." I stopped when Raghav came out of the bathroom.

Rajesh signaled me to keep quite and hence I did not say anything.

I kept thinking if I should give him the gift or not but by then, Raghav approached us and asked Rajesh about the box in his hand. Rajesh was trying to hide it but Raghav took the box from his hand and saw the photo frame.

Rajesh was stunned when he noticed Raghav looking at the picture of his parents and I was quite scared after what Rajesh had told me.

"R...Raghav..." I started stammering and Raghav did not speak a word after checking the photograph. I felt that I did a mistake or may be hurt him by bringing back his old memories.

Raghav looked at me and I could see his eyes which were moist and had turned light red.

"I'm...I'm really sorry Raghav...I dint mean to..." I was feeling a pain in my heart that I hurt him with my gift without realizing how he had spent all these years without his parents.

Raghav approached me and after a long pause, he hugged me. I stood blank as I did not understand what happened. He then cupped my face and kissed me on my forehead saying "Thanks Kalpi...I ...I am seeing my mother's picture after so many years...I had almost forgotten how my mom looked as I was scared...I was scared if I would be able to control myself after looking at her pictures...This is why I felt my life was incomplete...But your this gift has made me realize what was missing in my life...My mom...Her memories...Everything...Thanks so much...And wish you a very happy birthday love."

I felt so relieved and happy to hear those words from Raghav and I hugged him back. I noticed Rajesh watching us and an unknown sadness was prevalent in his eyes. He walked out of the room to give us privacy.

The same day in the office...

We both had to work late in the office. I did not want to leave before Raghav as he was busy in the meeting so I kept waiting for him in the cabin. I wondered why there was barely any staff in the office and most of them had left quite early.

I waited patiently for an hour and finally he finished his meeting and we both left for our home.

When we reached the entrance, I noticed that the entire lane was dark and the lights were off. "Rajesh has not switched on the lights?" I asked but Raghav did not answer me. I felt he was in a bad mood as he did not even tell me how his meeting was.

The car stopped outside the mansion and Raghav walked straight into the house without even opening the door of the car for me. I was a bit upset as I dint get why is he so angry with me. It was my birthday as well and I just wanted to spend some time with me in the office but that also dint happen and he did not even give me any gift. I was quite depressed.

Raghav entered the house and I followed him slowly by taking one step at a time. I was quite tired and stressed as waiting also was like a job for me.

I was astonished to see that the entire house was dark and I could not see anything or anyone. I wondered that the entire city has their lights on, then why only my house is without lights? It was strange.

I get very scared of darkness and especially after that horrifying night, I just din't feel like taking a step inside.

Raghav came to the entrance of the house and gestured me to come in as I kept staring at the dark hall.

I finally gained courage to walk inside as Raghav was with me and boom. I just dint realize what had just happened. I mean I closed my eyes and caught my face when I noticed some confetti on my head with rose petals.

"What's this R...?" I stopped when I saw my office colleagues rushing towards me and wishing me. I looked at them and then at Raghav and I could notice a small smile on his face. He winked at me and hugged me whispering "Happy Birthday sweety" giving me a kiss on my ear which made me blush.

Raghav held my hand and took me near the table. I saw a big chocolate cake decorated with many flowers and my name written right in the center reading "Happy Birthday Love". He then opened the champagne bottle and we all had great fun dancing and singing songs during the party.

My aunt, uncle and Prem also were present there and I had met them after almost 2 months. I had so much to tell them and I was so happy to see them here along with the other guests as they all used to refrain from coming to this mansion because of those fake horror stories.

I was surprised to see Sonia as well attend the party and I first time noticed Rajesh standing aside in a corner and wiping his tears.

He restrained himself from meeting Sonia but I could see the spark in Sonia's eyes when I informed her about her dad.

She wanted to meet him eagerly and so she went inside the kitchen (where her dad was) and had a long conversation.

Raghav, on the other hand, was so happy to celebrate my birthday that he wasn't ready to leave me even for a second and when I was talking to my office colleagues, he kept asking me to dance with him. It was just his love that couldn't keep him away from me.
