After an hours, all the guests left and I was busy getting the house cleaned and Rajesh started washing the vessels.
I suddenly felt a pull and I noticed that it was Raghav who took me in an
embrace and kissed me on my cheek. "You enjoyed my surprise party?"
"Hmmm...To some extent..."
"To some extent? It took me 2 days to arrange this party...You dint
like it?"
I turned to face him and I wrapped my hands around his neck saying "I
loved it...I loved every bit of the party...I am so happy to have a husband
like you Raghav...You complete me..." I gave him a peck on his lips and
hugged him tight.
Few hours passed by...
Raghav was sleeping in the bedroom and Rajesh was sleeping in the
servant's quarter. I thought of boiling the milk before it gets spoiled and so
I went to the kitchen and put on the gas.
I was standing in the kitchen and suddenly I noticed a glimpse which was
visible in the tiles of the kitchen wall. I felt as if someone was leaving the
mansion.
I was quite inquisitive to find out who was the person as both Raghav and
Rajesh were fast asleep.
I left the kitchen and opened the door to leave the mansion. I took few
steps and stopped as I noticed that what I had seen was right. It was someone
who left from our house and was walking towards the jungle.
I felt as if it was someone else who was staying in the mansion and I
wasn't aware of it. "Who can this person be? Why is the person walking
towards the jungle. And especially at this time...It's almost 11:00 a.m. and
it's not advised to go towards the jungle at this time...People said that they
have seen wild animals in the forest like foxes and bears..."
I was afraid to take a step further but I wanted to solve the mystery
today itself. I wanted to know if it's just my senses which is making me feel
that there is a fourth person staying in the mansion or was it only my
imagination.
I entered the jungle and kept following the person. It was getting creepy
as I kept walking in the woods and I kept looking all around to ensure that
there were no creatures or wild animals there.
I suddenly noticed that I had reached the middle of the jungle and I had
been walking for over 30 minutes.
I could not see anything as it was completely dark and I stopped when I
heard a growling sound and the scene I witnessed after that was horrendous. I
witnessed that person dragging a body whose clothes were soaking in blood and
he took the body behind a tree. I could here more weird noises after than and I
took few steps behind and noticed the man walking towards me. His face had a
mask and he had worn a black jacket and gloves as well which was similar to
what Raghav's dad had worn in those pictures.
My body froze for few seconds and when I noticed him walking faster
towards me, I turned away and started running. I kept running and turning
behind to see him running with speed towards me.
I ran till my knees felt weak and I dint have much energy to run faster. I
looked around and found myself in the middle of nowhere. I dint know where I am
and how to reach the mansion. I looked behind and noticed that nobody was
chasing me.
I took a sigh of relief that now I am alone but the fact that I was lost
was killing me inside.
I started walking in a straight direction and heard few steps behind me. I
froze as the sound started getting louder and louder and my heart started
beating faster with every footstep.
I gained some courage and closed my eyes and in a second I turned behind
to face the person. I opened my eyes and noticed that there as nobody there and
after few seconds, I found myself on the ground. Somebody had hit me hard on my
head which made me feel dizzy and I could only see a glimpse of a person
walking near me but I couldn't hear anything.
I woke up and found myself in my bedroom.
"How are you feeling now?" Raghav asked me with a concern in his
voice.
I got up from the bed and held my head as it was aching. "How did I
reach here? I was in the ...?"
"I picked you up from the jungle and brought you here." Raghav
said while caressing my back.
"How did you know that I was in the jungle?"
"Rajesh knocked the door and told me that he had seen you walking
inside the jungle. I then left to search for you and noticed that you were
lying on the ground unconscious. Why did you go there? You know that there are
wild animals in that jungle..."
"I'm sorry Raghav but..." I stopped as I dint know what to tell
him. Will he believe me or like last time he will think it's my imagination? I
did not even see that person's face. "But...I heard some noise from the
jungle and so tried to see from where the noise is coming from. With the result
I noticed that I was lost. After few moments, someone hit me on my head and I
don't remember what happened after that."
Rajesh stared at me and it felt odd. I felt as he knew I was lying.
Raghav asked "Who hit you? Did you see the person?"
"No." I answered when Raghav's phone rang. He picked up the call
and answered it.
"What?....No, I dint see her coming here...Where did she go?...How
long has it been?...Wait, I'll search for her then..."
"What happened Raghav? Who was it?"
"Sonia hasn't reached home yet." Rajesh's eyes widened on
hearing this and I asked with concern "Where did she go? She had left the
party along with the others."
"Her mom is saying that she tried her cell phone and then called us
as well but nobody picked up the phone. She is so worried as now it's 12:30
a.m. and Sonia had left here 4 hours back. Where she must have gone? I'll go
and search her else we need to call up the police."
"Police? But sir..." Rajesh cut Raghav and Raghav consoled him
saying "Don't worry uncle. Sonia will be found soon. I'll try my best to
find her."
