Vikram leaves the police station and returns home.
Sunaina asks him about Prem and he tells her everything that happened in the
hospital and what Raghav did to Prem.
Kalpana hears everything and wonders why Raghav hit
Prem and thinks in her mind that Raghav must be definitely provoked by Prem to
take this step else Raghav is not a violent person.
Raghav spends the night in jail but is not completely
conscious as he consumed almost three bottles of beer at the bar.
The next day, Kalpana visits Prem in the hospital
along with Sunaina and Prem. She enters the room and notices that Prem is
conscious and his head is bandaged. He looks at Kalpana with a frown on his
face and Kalpana bursts out laughing and says
"First time I saw a monkey who is lying like a mouse."
Prem gets angry and tries to get up from the bed but
his head starts paining and he goes back to his bead and lies down.
Suhana says "Prem, are you sure that Raghav hit
you?"
Prem looks at her with a disgust on his face implying
that her question is not making any sense.
Suhana says "No, I mean that you were so drunk
yesterday that it may be possible that you yourself broke that bottle on your
head or you feel on the bottle."
Prem says "Just shut your mouth Suhana. Don't
talk nonsense. I was drunk yesterday but that does not mean I lost my
senses."
Kalpana comes near Prem and touches his head saying
"Prem, it's hurting a lot na."
Prem shouts "Ouch! What are you doing Kalpana?
Are you mad?"
Kalpana says "Oh sorry! I touched your hurt and
you got pain. But I don't think that this injury will cause your brain any harm
as it will only affect a person who has brains in the first place."
Suhana and Kalpana burst out laughing. Prem presses
the button calling the nurse. The nurse comes in and makes them leave the room.
Kalpana asks Sunaina whether she can see Raghav to
which Sunaina replies that Vikram dad said that you cannot go to the Police
station as it's not a place for children to visit. He will be released soon
from jail and then you can talk to him how much ever you want.
The next day, Sunaina goes to the police station to
see Raghav and she finds him very weak as he has not even eaten food since that
night. She brings for him food and asks Raghav to eat it but he refuses to eat
it.
Raghav says "Dad does not even once want to see
me and know how I am and why I did this. The police inspector told me that dad
put me here but till now he has not come here."
Sunaina says "Try to understand your dad Raghav.
He loves you a lot but is angry with what has happened. You did not do correct
by hitting Prem, Raghav."
Raghav says "I did this because Prem was saying
indecent things about you and dad and I can never bear that."
Sunaina says "Whatever anyone says Raghav, one
must always maintain their cool as violence is not a solution to any problem.
You need to ignore these things in life as that's the best way to live
peacefully."
Raghav says "How much to ignore bhabi? Till now
I have been ignoring these things but people keep talking bad things about my
family and there is a limit to this. I cannot take it anymore."
The police constable comes and says that the meeting
time is over. Sunaina tells Raghav that she will come again to meet him and
keeps the lunch box there and leaves.
On the way home, Sunaina hears the villagers speaking
bad about Vikram saying that he does not deserve to be the sarpanch anymore as
he cannot even control his own son and teach him good values and so how can we
expect him to be the head of our village. Sunaina feels bad about what the
villagers feel about her dad-in-law and wishes that she could change this.
Pramod takes back the complaint and makes Prem change
his statement that he did not see the person who attacked him to prove that he
is kind-hearted in the eyes of the villagers while Vikram tells Pramod to not
take back his complaint as he feels that Raghav should get punished for his
mistake.
One month passes by...
Kalpana everyday thinks of visiting Raghav in the
police station but does not want to lie to Vikram dad as he has told her not to
go to the police station.
Prem taunts Kalpana everyday when she goes to school
saying "Look at this girl. Her husband is in jail which is the right place
for him but still she is so proud her him that whenever anyone says bad about
him, she gets angry and insults that person. Shameless!" Kalpana answers
him saying "Raghav left you by just hitting you on your head, but if you
dare say anything about me again, I'll burn you alive and I mean it." Prem
gets scared of her statement and leaves from there.
Vikram resigns from the sarpanch position as he
notices that most of the villagers have lost their trust on him and he feels
that he has failed as a father and he could not make Raghav a good human being.
The villagers choose Pramod as the new sarpanch.
Raghav releases from jail and only Sunaina comes to
bring him back home. He goes to his room and Kalpana tries to talk to him but he
bangs the door on her face. Kalpana gets upset with his reaction and then waits
outside his room till he opens the door.
Five hours pass by and Kalpana still is waiting
outside Raghav's door and as her legs start paining, she sits on the ground and
waits for him. Sunaina keeps telling Kalpana to get up and go to her room
assuring her that she will inform her when Raghav opens the door but Kalpana
refuses to listen.
Raghav opens the door after sometime and notices
Kalpana sitting on the floor and is resting her head on the wall. He feels bad
that he has made her to wait for so long for him and he picks her up and takes
her to her room. He places her on the bed and arranges the pillow and bed
sheet. As he is about to leave, Kalpana holds his hand saying "Raghav,
please don't go. She gets up and says "Raghav please talk to me."
Raghav removes her hand and tells her "Kalpi, it's late now. You are
already so sleepy and now you go to sleep. We will talk tomorrow."
The next morning, Kalpana gets up late and rushes
towards Raghav's room when she hears the maid saying "Raghav is going to
the Panchgini boarding school today. She enters Raghav room and observes all
the things scattered in his room and he is taking out his clothes and throwing
in on the floor.
Kalpana goes and catches his hand saying "Stop
it Raghav. What are you doing? Why are you creating this mess?"
Raghav says "Mess? My life has become a mess.
Dad wants to send me away from here. He is throwing me out of the house as if I
am some useless thing."
Kalpana says "Please cool down Raghav. I also
heard about this today and I am also shocked to hear this. I don't know why dad
is doing this?"
Raghav says "You are shocked? I am sure you also
must be knowing about this. After all, I was away for a month and you never
even once came to see me in the police station. I considered you as my friend
but when your friend needed you the most, you were nowhere to be seen."
Kalpana says "No Raghav. It's not what you are
thinking. I wanted to come but..."
Raghav interrupts her saying "You wanted to come
but you could now, right? You, a girl who always does things what she wishes is
saying this? You also are like those other people from the village who think
different and feel differently. Just go away from here and let me leave."
Kalpana says "You think so bad about me Raghav.
What have I done wrong? Tell me. I could not come to see you because dad did
not let me and I did not want to lie to him and break his trust."
Raghav "Dad hates me. I always listened to him
and did whatever he wants till date whether it was to study hard, marry you,
make friends with you, eat, sleep, anything and everything I could I did but dad never understood me and my feelings.
He always thought of me as a bad son who is spoiled."
Kalpana says "You are thinking wrong about your
dad as well Raghav. He loves you the most. I have seen dad crying everyday for
you and telling Sunaina bhabi that he is missing you and wants you out of
prison and wants to make you a good human being. That might be the reason he is
sending you to the boarding school. Please don't misunderstand him."
Raghav says "You want to support dad's decision?
Means you to want me to go away. You too were never my friend and so now you
have shown me what you feel for me."
Kalpana says "Raghav, please don't say that. You
are my friend and always will be."
Kalpana hugs Raghav, put her head on his chest and
says "Raghav, you are my best friend. I don't want you to go and will miss
you the most."
Raghav hugs Kalpana back and says "Kalpana, I
don't want to go anywhere. Please don't let me go. Please..."
Raghav holds Kalpana's face with his hands and looks
in her eyes saying "Kalpana, I love you. I missed you so much in this one
month. I cannot leave you."
Raghav kisses Kalpana's eyes thus wiping her tears
from her eyes and then proceeds to her lips and kisses her on her lips. Kalpana
gets a shock and pushes Raghav and says "How dare you Raghav? I considered
you my friend so you thought that you can do anything with me? You are trying
to take advantage of our friendship. Raghav wonders if he did anything wrong
and tries to reason out with her but she refuses to hear or understand
anything. She says "Now I got that why Vikram dad wants to send you to the
boarding school. Because of you, your dad resigned from the sarpanch position.
All the villagers believe that he did not give good values to his son. You have
become too bad Raghav and ruined the name of your dad." Raghav holds
Kalpana's hand and she says "Don't touch me. You were my friend but now no
more I consider you as my friend. I hate you for this."
Kalpana leaves from there and rushes in her room and
locks the door and start getting angry on Raghav. She thinks it is a wrong to
kiss anyone and feels that Raghav is taking advantage of their friendship.
Raghav knocks her door and tries to apologize for his
behavior but Kalpana does not open the door. The maid tells Raghav that the car
is waiting for him.
Vikram tells the maids to take Raghav's bag and put
it in the car. Raghav comes down and looks at Vikram and goes next to him to
talk to him and Vikram says "The driver is waiting for you. Go and sit in
the car." Raghav says "Dad, you won't even be coming to
Panchgini?" Vikram says "Go fast. You have to reach there by 9:00
p.m. as after that the gate closes." Raghav goes and sits in the car and
Sunaina bids him good bye.
Raghav looks out of the car to see Kalpana for the
last time before he leaves but notices that her room's window is closed and she
does not even come down to wish him good bye.He feels that she must be angry
with him.
Months pass by....
Raghav does not interact with any of his classmates
in the boarding school and sits in a corner with his books and studies day and
night to prove to his dad that he will prove himself and work hard. Other class
mates consider Raghav as a nerd as he does not talk to them but just keeps
memorizing the notes and also has his lunch separately.
Sunaina goes to the boarding school after every two
months to see Raghav but Raghav refuses to meet her as he feels that he should
distance himself from his family if he wants to achieve something in life and
if he meets his family members, he will feel like going back home and will come
back to square one. He wants to give his father the respect he deserves back
and so wants to become a big person as soon as possible.
Raghav every night writes letters for Kalpana but
never posts them as he does not want any reply. He just has one photograph of
Kalpana which he had packed in his bag before leaving and everyday he keeps
that photograph under his pillow and goes to sleep thinking about the moments
he spent with her. He never calls his home and whenever he receives a call from
his home, he does not answer it.
Raghav takes up a job as a photographer in a small
shop near his boarding school and whatever money he earns, he saves that so
that he has not to spend the money his father gives him every month as pocket
money.

Kalpana, on the other hand, is angry with Raghav for
what he did before leaving Panchgini and thinks that he was never her friend to
do such a thing.
A builder visits the village and expresses interest
in buying the land of the villagers in order to build a mall in that area and
also sky scraper buildings. The sarpanch, Pramod, convinces some of the
villagers to sell their land promising them that they would get a good amount
of money and would be able to get a good flat in the new buildings being built.

4 years pass by...
Raghav completes his graduation and applies for
admission in a college in London which trains young photographers and promises
them good jobs and salary package. He gets admission there and informs his
family via a letter that he has got his passport ready and visa documents and
is leaving for London.
Vikram feels upset hearing that Raghav is not
interested in coming back to his village after his graduation and wants to
distance himself from his family.
Kalpana completes her schooling and joins the college
in the village and wishes to take up a fashion designing course after her
graduation is complete.
During this time, most of the villagers agree to sell
their property to different builders as per the words of Pramod and their
houses get demolished while new buildings and malls capture most of the area in
the village and now it looks more like a city than a village.
Few villagers along with Kalpana and Vikram, refuse
to sell their houses. Suhana completes her graduation and her dad and mom think
of settling in the village instead so that they can stay with Pramod in his
6-bedroom flat which is in a seventeenth story building and Suhana takes
admission in the new college set up in the village to obtain a Master's degree.
6 years pass by...
Raghav has completed his post graduation and is
working for ABC ad agency which is one of the top most companies in London. He
earns 5000 GBP per month. He is happy that he has finally managed to achieve
something big in his life and has proved himself.
