I checked up with the
airlines too and they confirmed that Raghav did not board the flight two days
ago. How is it possible that he left from here and did not even board his
flight? He had an urgent meeting. Did he have some other work that he did not
want to share with me? No. I
"Yes, his name is
Raghav Singhania. He is an NRI and had come with my to Mumbai. For the past 2
days, he has been missing. His phone is switched off...I think he is in
trouble. I've already given you his photograph...Please find him, inspector."
"Don't worry mam...I'll
send my constable to trace his mobile number and we'll get in touch with you
soon."
As I walk out of the police
station, my eyes remain moist thinking "Is Raghav safe or has he been
kidnapped? Has he met with an acci...? No...I need to remain positive. I can't
be so...Nothing can happen to him..." Tears start rolling down my cheeks
as negative thoughts run through my mind.

"7 days have passed,
Kalpi...How long are you going to not eat? Your face has become so pale. Please
don't torture yourself, baby. Please eat." Kalpana's mother keeps
requesting her to eat but she does not retort.
"I need to leave now. I
have to checkup with the police if they have found any new information about
him." Saying this, Kalpi gets up from the bed and feels dizzy. Her mother
holds her hand and asks her to sit while Kajal rushes to bring a glass of
water. "Bus beta...Now it's enough. You can't even stand. Look at
yourself. If you are so weak, how will you be able to search Raghav?"
"I have to go. I can't
delay, mom. I have to search him. My Raghav..."
"Mom cuddles me in her
arms and this is what I wanted since the time I left to Austria, my mom and my
sister near me. Now, inspite of having my loved ones near me, I cannot be happy
as my Raghav is not near me. It's been 9 days since I have seen him, 219 hours
35 minutes 7 seconds...And each second is making me feel like a year. I fear
that I may never see him again and this feeling is killing me. I searched every
airport, bus stands, all the numbers that Sammy gave me, phoned Carol up and
asked for any information, tried everything I could but nobody could tell me

A phone rings and Kalpana
picks it up on the second ring. "Sammy, any news?"
"Mam, Raghav sir
contacted us few minutes ago and I told him about you. He told me to tell you
he is fine and he is currently attending a meeting in Canada. He lost his
mobile last week due to which he lost couldn’t contact anyone. He did not board
the flight for Austria and directly flew to Canada. He is busy right now and
hence told me to inform you that he's safe. Also, he said that you can leave
for Austria and asked me to book the tickets for you. Should I book the flight
for today mam? Mam? Are you hearing? " I was unable to answer after
hearing this and just cut the call.
“How could Raghav not inform
me for so many days? He must have known that I would come to know that he’s not
in Austria when I reach there but he did not bother to call me up and tell me
he’s fine and busy? When he left from here, I thought he started feeling for me
and cared for my family but now again he’s proved that he’s the same old Raghav
Singhania who has no emotions for anyone.” These thoughts keep running in my
mind as mom serves me food asking me to eat as I’ve been starving all this
while with all negative thoughts on my mind about Raghav. I decide to stay back
with mom for a week and not go back. After all when Raghav does not care to
inform me, why should I? I got this time to spend with my family and now I’ll
be happy for them instead of thinking about Raghav who’s least concerned about
my feelings.
I and Kajal decide to go to the beach in the evening and make the most of my time.
