A month passes by...
Kalpana enters the kitchen and notices
her mom cooking lunch for the family. "How to convince mom for the late
night party? After that Goa trip, mom warned me that it was the last time I
would party with my friends. Damn! Grand ma also is not there at home nor
Preeti aunt is there to give me the permission. If I tell mom that the party
will end at 5:00 a.m., she will start panicking and will 100% not let me go.
What to do? Think something Kalpi."
Kalpana approaches her mom and takes a
bite of the snacks in the plate. Her mother notices Kalpana eating the snacks
and she takes the plate away saying "Kalpi, these snacks are not yet
boiled. You are eating them raw? You'll get stomach pain because of this."
Kalpana puts down the piece of the bhaji
down and hugs her mom from behind. "Mom...You are cho chweet...I just love
you." She comes before her and pulls her mom's cheeks saying
"Mom...You're such a cutie pie..." She begins pressing her mom's hand
and her mom gets irritated as she is busy frying the potatoes in the hot oil.
"Mumma...You're so nice...You do so much for the family and I always only
keep complaining...Never appreciated you. You're the best mom anyone child can
get...Muah!" She says with a wide smile.
Kasturi starts staring at Kalpana and she
raises her eyebrows and asks "What do you want in return of this
appreciation?"
Kalpana clears her throat and fakes a
smile saying "Mom...You understood that I wanted something from you?"
She makes a puppy face and her mom smirks saying "Kalpi bachu...I'm your
mom...You were 9 months in my stomach...If I don't understand you, then who
else will be able to understand you?"
Kalpana bites her lip and hugs her mom
from behind saying "Mumma...My friend has kept a farewell party at her
house and she has invited all her college friends, including me."
"Hmm...That's good. You should go
then." Her mom says casually. "Really mom? I may come home tomorrow
morning. It's fine na?"
"What? Tomorrow morning? No...You
can't remain outside all night. You can stay there till 10 and then come back
home else..." Her mom scolds her.
"Mom...Mom please...It's our
farewell party. The party will start at 12 and end at 5. Please let me go. It's
the last day I'll meet my friends. Please mom...Please." She hugs her mom
and while requesting her, she keeps shaking her and Kasturi gets confused as
she is frying the potatoes with one hand and stopping Kalpana from rocking her
with the other hand.
"OK OK Listen...One sec..."
Kasturi says while stopping Kalpana and Kalpana says "Mom...You're OK with
it? Yay! Thank you thank you so much mom..." Kalpana says and gives her
mom a kiss on her cheek and this leaves Kasturi astonished and blank.
Kalpana rushes outside the kitchen and
Kasturi follows her holding the spoon in her hand. "Bye mom...Thank you so
much...I'll meet you tomorrow." Saying this Kalpana wears her shoes and
her mom keeps calling her saying "Kalpana, I din't approve it and
you...Wait...Don't go...Kalpi..."
Rajeev comes walking towards Kasturi and
asks her as to why she is screaming and Kasturi says "There Kalpi is going
for an overnight party..."
"And you let her go?"
"No...She just left and..."
"But without your permission."
"No. I tried to stop her and just
said OK but she took it as an approval and left...This girl is getting out of
our hand day-by-day. We need to search a boy soon now...."
"Don't take tension Kasturi. I trust
my daughter completely. Yeah, I know that she's too mischievous but I'm sure
after marriage, she'll be a responsible wife and DIL."
Kalpana reaches the party venue and Priya
and she have a blast. they meet friends, share their college moments and also
talk about their results that will be out very soon.
Everyone in the party are so lost in the
music that they don't realize the time and the volume of the music.
